for many reasons, including that godfrey and i were talking about it, to re-kickstart conversation here and because this topic will slightly annoy brad, i ask you for your top 5 favorite sci-fi films of all time. i’m ruling out fantasy and sci-fi/horror. here are mine:
1) star wars (i include all 3 films of the original trilogy for the sake of being allowed to add other franchises)
2) alien - scared the crap out of me, a woman in the lead/hero role (!?) i saw it for the first time when i was 14
3) blade runner - haven’t seen all of the alternate endings, but abolutely love this movie
4) the matrix
5) terminator - again, scared the crap out of me at 14ish
honorable mentions: dune (original with sting and kyle maclachlan - although the sci-fi channel remake was awesome), the newest star trek (i leave it out of my top 5 only because i’ve just seen it once), brazil, primer, serenity, the day the earth stood still (original)
